At Little Cubs Academy Greenwich nursery and preschool, we feel it’s important to sometimes look backwards, as always looking to innovate is not the sole route to success. We do believe in embracing traditional, early-years teaching methods from around the world. At our nursery in Greenwich, as well as creating engaging environments, our methodologies also teach and promote:
We fundamentally believe that traditional teaching methods paired with core values of love, care, compassion, honesty, equality, and nurture, should be at the heart of everything that we do. We very much strive to be the best nursery in Greenwich. Find out more about us by reading our story
Children are grouped into rooms according to their age, each with experienced staff and daily routines and activities designed around their needs and interests:
3 months to 2 years: A structured yet flexible routine, teachers focus on providing love, cuddles and sensory/tactile play. We help to build confidence by ensuring the children feel secure and cared for. We open up a world of discovery, and provide plenty of opportunities for messy and outdoor play, music and games.
2 to 3 years: Fresh air and outdoor play including gardening, ball games, and bikes/trikes are a focus, as well as helping to grow children’s developing senses and interaction skills. We promote every child’s uniqueness, and aid them in learning about themselves.
3 to 5 years: Supporting children’s learning in a planned, yet play-based environment, we help build confidence, self-assurance, independence, and respect for others, so that children are armed with the skills and knowledge for their next step.
The staffing team is led by Head Teacher Sheila Cardoso. Sheila very much enjoys working in partnership with her team to ensure our nursery in Greenwich delivers outstanding practice on a day to day basis.
