Housed in two spacious converted houses with a large garden and terrace, Little Cubs Academy Day Nursery and Preschool in Honor Oak, Forest Hill, is 2 minutes’ walk from Honor Oak station, and only a 5 minute drive from Forest Hill, Dulwich, Crofton Park and Brockley. Our Forest Hill nursery and preschool is open from 8am to 6pm, 51 weeks a year, for children from 3 months to 5 years of age. The setting has been designed with natural, sustainable, neutral materials and colours to create a calm, warm environment, and is regularly updated with new toys, equipment and educational resources.
The Forest Hill nursery and pre-school’s outside area features an organic fruit and vegetable growing area, a mud kitchen and a library where children can relax on a bean bag and enjoy their favourite book in a cosy environment. We like to give our children the broadest range of experiences with the best quality providers, so alongside our programme of activities linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), we also offer a very diverse selection of all-inclusive activities like regular trips to green spaces and nearby woodland, cooking, yoga, coding, football, arts and crafts, drama, music, dance classes, sport and PE.

Honor Oak, Forest Hill Nursery & Preschool Rooms
At Little Cubs Academy Honor Oak, Forest Hill, children are grouped into rooms according to their age, each with experienced staff and daily routines and activities designed around their needs and interests:
Bear and Lion Cubs
3 months to 2 years: A structured yet flexible routine, teachers focus on providing love, cuddles and sensory/tactile play. We help to build confidence by ensuring the children feel secure and cared for. We open up a world of discovery, and provide plenty of opportunities for messy and outdoor play, music and games.
Tiger Cubs
2 to 3 years: Fresh air and outdoor play including gardening, ball games, and bikes/trikes are a focus, as well as helping to grow children’s developing senses and interaction skills. We promote every child’s uniqueness, and aid them in learning about themselves.
Preschool
3 to 5 years: Supporting children’s learning in a planned, yet play-based environment, we help build confidence, self-assurance, independence, and respect for others, so that children are armed with the skills and knowledge for their next step.
Meet The Team
Nicole Bowman is the Head Teacher at our Forest Hill nursery and preschool. Nicole is very much part of the local community, having lived in the area for many years. She is Level 3 qualified and is extremely passionate about working in Early Years. Building close relationships and partnerships with parents is very much at the heart of her values.
Bethany is Deputy head Teacher. She provides support throughout the nursery, as well as being our head of the Preschool. Bethany has proved herself to be an inspiring mentor to our new staff members. She is also incredibly passionate about teaching school readiness to our three to five year olds.
